Kalander Shah's Tomb is a magnificent historical and spiritual landmark dedicated to the revered Sufi saint, Hazrat Bu-Ali Shah Qalandar, who lived during the 13th-14th century. The saint's spiritual influence was vast, and he was deeply respected by both Hindus and Muslims. The tomb itself was orig inally built by Emperor Ghiyas-ud-din of Delhi. The well-sculptured grave within the enclosure is made of exquisite marble. The larger complex includes a beautiful mosque and a reservoir with fountains, added by the Mughal Emperor Alamgir (Aurangzeb), which further enhances the site’s serenity. It stands as a profound example of Indo-Islamic architecture and is a site of continuous pilgrimage. Its proximity to the old city center highlights its importance through successive rulers and periods. The serene environment offers a peaceful retreat from the surrounding commercial activity of Sadar Bazaar, making it a unique place where history, architecture, and spirituality converge. How to Reach

By Air:: Nearest major airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi (approx. 125 KMS). From there, take a train or bus to Karnal.

By Train:: The destination is conveniently located close to Karnal Railway Station (KUN), about 10 minutes by auto-rickshaw (approx. 2 KMS). The station is a major stop on the Delhi-Ambala line.

By Road:: Karnal is directly on NH 44 (GT Road). The site is located near the city center and the bustling Sadar Bazaar. The Karnal Bus Stand is only about 15 minutes away by local transport.

By Local Transport:: Being centrally located near the Sadar Bazaar, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and cycle rickshaws are readily available. Specify "Kalander Shah's Tomb" or "Dargah Shareef" to the driver. :
