By Air:The nearest airport is Dimapur Airport (DMU), approximately 70 KMS away; from the airport, hire a prepaid taxi or take a shared cab to Kohima (about 3-4 hours), and then take a local taxi or shared sumo to Kigwema (45 minutes to 1 hour); By Train:The nearest major railway station is Dimapur Railway Station (DMU), about 70 KMS from Kigwema; from the station, the same road transport options (shared taxi or reserved cab) are available to reach Kohima first and then transfer to Kigwema; By Road:Kigwema is well-connected to Kohima (approx. 15 KMS) via NH-29 (formerly NH-39); one can hire a full taxi (usually a Sumo or a jeep) from Kohima to Kigwema, or opt for a much cheaper shared taxi from the Kohima taxi stand; By Local Transport:Shared taxis (sumos/jeeps) are the lifeline between Kohima and Kigwema and are the most budget-friendly option, running frequently during the day.
