How To Reach Mallar Mallanna Temple

Mythological Roots: This ancient temple is dedicated to Mailar Mallanna, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva also known as Khandoba. The legend says that Shiva took this form to defeat the demons Malla and Mani who were terrorizing the sages. After a fierce battle, the demons were slain, and the e lder demon Malla repented, asking the Lord to include his name in the Lord's own title. Thus, the deity is called Mallar (after Malla) and Mallanna (Shiva). The temple is a significant pilgrimage site for the Kuruba community and attracts millions of devotees from Maharashtra, Telangana, and Karnataka.

How to Reach

By Air: The nearest air link is Bidar Airport; however, most international travelers arrive at Hyderabad and drive for 3. 5 hours.

By Train: Get off at Khanapur Railway Station (2 KM away) or the main Bidar Railway Station and take an auto-rickshaw.

By Road: The temple is located on the Bidar-Udgir Road; it is a short 20-minute drive from Bidar city center via well-paved roads.

By Local Transport: Shared autos and private taxis are easily available from the Bidar bus stand and are very affordable for a round trip.
