Nearest is Jubbarhatti Airport (SLV): Hire a taxi to Mashobra and arrange for a local guide to meet you at the trailhead near the sanctuary entrance (approx 35-40 KMS from SLV):
By Train: Nearest major station is Kalka (KLK), connecting to the narrow-gauge Shimla Railway Station (SML): From Shimla, hire a taxi to the starting point of the trek (the Mashobra-Water Catchment area), as it is not a bus route destination:
By Road: Mt. Jhighu is accessed via trails that start near the entry points of the Shimla Water Catchment Wildlife Sanctuary or deep forest roads near Mashobra: A private taxi is the only reliable way to reach the trailhead:
By Local Transport: Shared local transport will only take you to the main Mashobra town; a dedicated local cab must be hired for the final approach to the starting point of the trek:
