By Road: The main access is a road trip from Leh (approx. 120-150 KMS) via the formidable Khardung La pass, which is a significant part of the adventure. : The drive takes 5-7 hours. : Alternatively, a less-used route via Wari La pass is also possible. :
By Local Transport: Private taxis, shared taxis, and local J&K/Ladakh Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC/local bus) buses operate daily between Leh and the main villages like Diskit and Hunder. : Shared taxis offer a relatively economical and frequent way to travel between these major hubs. : It is mandatory for all vehicles to be registered with an ILP before traveling. :
