By Air: The nearest major airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) in Hyderabad, approximately 100 KMS away. From the airport, one would take a taxi or bus to the main Mahabubnagar town center, and the lake is only a short, final local transport ride away.

By Train: The nearest railway station is the Mahabubnagar Railway Station (MBNR), which is conveniently close, only about 3-4 KMS away from the lake. The station is a central stop on the South Central Railway network. From the station, the lake is easily accessible by a very short auto-rickshaw ride or a quick local bus.

By Road: The Pedda Cheruvu is located right on the edge of the urban area and is easily accessible by the main bypass road. It is just a short drive from the main Mahabubnagar Bus Station (2 KMS). Regular state-run and private buses connect the town to all major cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Private vehicles and taxis have direct access to the Bund area with parking facilities available.

By Local Transport: Being a local landmark, the lake is perfectly connected by local transport. From any part of Mahabubnagar town, a quick and very affordable auto-rickshaw ride will take you directly to the Tank Bund. The local TSRTC town bus service also runs routes that pass very close to the lake, providing the cheapest and most common form of transport for the townspeople.
