How to Reach
By Train:
No Direct Rail Connectivity: The nearest major station is Jammu Tawi (JAT). The multi-day road journey from Jammu to Leh and then to Stongday is highly challenging. Air travel to Leh is strongly recommended.
By Road:
Via Khardung La Pass and Sumur: Drive from Leh to Nubra Valley via the Khardung La Pass. Upon reaching the valley, head towards Sumur village; Stongday is a small detour or a short distance from the main road near the Samstanling Gompa. Ensure you have your ILP.
By Local Transport:
Shared Taxi/Local Bus from Diskit: From the main hub of Diskit, you can catch a shared taxi or the sporadic local bus service heading toward Sumur or Panamik. The village is located about 35 KMs from Diskit.
