By Train:
No Direct Rail Connectivity: The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi (JAT). The multi-day road journey from Jammu is only for very dedicated, long-duration travelers.
By Road: Via Leh-Srinagar Highway (NH-1) To reach Yangthang Gompa from Diskit, you must first drive back over the Khardung La Pass to Leh, then take the highway towards Kargil to reach the Sham Valley area. From Leh, the journey is straightforward.
By Local Transport:
Dedicated Taxi from Leh: Due to its remoteness from Nubra Valley, a dedicated, pre-booked taxi from Leh is the most practical way to reach Yangthang.
