ISKCON Temple
A Global Vision: The temple was established in 1975 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). It was the first ISKCON temple built in India, built on the sacred Raman Reiti (sands where Krishna and Balaram played). The Main D eities: The main deities are Shri Krishna and his elder brother, Balaram (Krishna Balaram Mandir), flanked by Radha-Shyamsundar and Gaur-Nitai (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda). A Multi-Functional Complex: Beyond the temple, the complex houses the Samadhi Mandir of Swami Prabhupada, a Gurukula (school), a guesthouse, a library, and the renowned Govinda's vegetarian restaurant.:
