The main shrine stands at a height of 5000 FT above sea level. Its dimensions include a central sanctum of approximately 15x15 FT, surrounded by an open courtyard. The use of local stone and intricate wood carvings on the door frames showcases the craftsmanship of 8th-century artisans. The wooden beams are treated with natural oils to withstand the harsh Himalayan weather.
The Sculptural Heritage: Inside the sanctum, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are carved with great detail, following the classical Vedic iconography. The temple's exterior walls feature relief carvings of various Hindu deities and geometric patterns that are characteristic of the Kullu region's ancient stone temples. -
