Standing near the massive beak, you can capture the intricate detailing of the eyes and the scale of the structure. This spot offers a dramatic close-up that highlights the artistic genius of the sculpture. Most visitors take their "hero shot" here, posing with the giant bird. The texture of the concrete feathers provides an excellent backdrop for portraits, making it a must-visit spot for anyone with a camera.
Observation Deck Vistas: The glass-floored observation deck located within the sculpture's body offers a unique perspective. From here, you can take photos looking down at the rugged terrain of the hills or outward towards the rolling hills of the Western Ghats. The interplay of the structural ribs of the sculpture and the natural light coming through the openings creates a futuristic architectural photo. It’s also a great place for panoramic shots of the entire park, showing the cable car lines and the surrounding forest from a high vantage point.
Sunset from the Hilltop: For landscape photographers, the best time and spot is the hilltop at sunset. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky turns into a palette of orange and purple, casting a golden glow over the giant Jatayu statue. Silhouetting the bird against the sunset creates a legendary, almost mythical image. The wide-expanse view of the Kollam countryside from this height is unparalleled. This is also the best time to capture the sculpture as it starts to get illuminated by the park's internal lighting system, offering a different mood altogether.Photo Gallery
