The park is named afte r the Manas River, which flows through its heart, providing a lifeline for its diverse inhabitants. Covering an area of approximately 950 square kilometers, it is famous for its rare and endangered endemic wildlife, such as the Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare, Golden Langur, and Pygmy Hog.
