Located in the picturesque Rajmahal Hills, this waterfall consists of three cascading tiers, falling from a total height of about 50 to 60 feet. The name "Moti" (meaning pearl) is derived fr om the way the water droplets shimmer in the sun as they plunge over the rocky ledges. This site is maintained by the Sahibganj Forest Division, ensuring a balance between tourism and nature conservation. The surrounding area is a dense glen, providing a cool microclimate even during the peak of summer. The trek to the top of the waterfall offers stunning views of the Ganges flowing in the distance. It has long been a favorite spot for British officers during the colonial era, and its beauty was even captured by famous travelers like C.R. Forrest in the 19th century. The waterfall is seasonal, reaching its full, thundering glory during the monsoon months. However, the perennial stream ensures a gentle flow throughout the year. The mist created by the falling water keeps the surrounding rocks covered in lush green moss. It is a place of immense tranquility, where the only sound is the roar of the water and the chirping of forest birds.
