The Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum is an archaeological wonder located in Pinjore. This site contains the remains of an ancient temple complex dating back to the 8th and 11th centuries AD. Often called the "Khajuraho of North India" due to its intricate erotic sculptures, the site was rediscovered d uring excavations in 1974. The museum is an open-air gallery displaying over 100 exquisite stone sculptures, pillars, and inscriptions. These artifacts were once part of a magnificent Panchayatana style temple dedicated to Goddess Bhima Devi. The temple was unfortunately destroyed during various invasions, but the remaining fragments offer a glimpse into the glorious Gurjara-Pratihara school of art. Visitors can see depictions of deities like Shiva, Parvati, Vishnu, and Ganesha. The lush green lawns and well-curated pathways make it a peaceful spot for history enthusiasts. It is a protected monument under the Haryana Government and serves as a vital link to the region's ancient past. The museum is integrated with the nearby Yadavindra Gardens, providing a seamless experience for tourists.
