Dudhwa National Park, situated in the Terai belt of Uttar Pradesh near the Indo-Nepal border, is a biodiversity hotspot renowned for its rich flora and fauna. Established in 1977, it spans over 490 sq km, forming the core of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. The park's diverse ecosystems, including moist d eciduous forests, grasslands, and swamps, support a significant population of endangered species like the Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros (reintroduced), swamp deer (Barasingha), and Indian elephant. It's also a haven for birdwatchers, with over 450 avian species recorded. The park offers a less commercialized and more serene wildlife experience compared to some other popular Indian national parks.
