Goverdhan Hill is a sacred hill mentioned extensively in Hindu scriptures, particularly in the stories of Lord Krishna. Legend has it that Krishna lifted the entire Goverdhan Hill on his little finger to protect the residents of Braj from the torrential rains sent by Indra. The Parikrama (circumamb ulation) of the 21-kilometer path around the hill is a significant pilgrimage ritual, undertaken by thousands of devotees. The route is dotted with temples, kunds (sacred ponds) like Mansi Ganga and Radha Kund, and other holy sites associated with Krishna's pastimes. The hill itself is considered a manifestation of Lord Krishna. Undertaking the Goverdhan Parikrama is a deeply spiritual experience, connecting devotees with the legends of Krishna's divine power and his love for Braj. Even if you don't do the entire parikrama, visiting some of the key sites along the way, such as Mansi Ganga and Radha Kund, is highly recommended. The serene atmosphere and the natural beauty of the area are captivating.
