Critical: Check the Tidal Chart and follow the guide's instructions religiously due to the speed of the incoming tide. Wear a hat and use strong sunscreen, as there is no shade on the exposed seabed.
Packing: Wear closed, secure footwear (gum boots or water shoes are best) to protect against sharp corals/rocks. Carry minimal baggage, plenty of water, and a fully charged phone/camera.
Permits: Obtain permission from the Forest Department and potentially the Customs/Port Department in Jamnagar well in advance, especially if planning a visit to other islands like Pirotan.
Accommodation: Stay in Jamnagar and arrange a taxi for the day, as local accommodation near Narara is very basic.
