Tourism Tips

Health & Safety: Do not attempt to swim in the reservoir as the depth can be unpredictable and there are no lifeguards. Stay away from the edge of the spillway during high water discharge.

Packing Essentials: Carry a pair of binoculars for birdwatching. A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses are necessary as there is very little shade near the dam and the reservoir banks.

Accommodation: Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy are the closest towns for a comfortable stay. There are government guest houses near the reservoir, but they usually require prior booking.

Cash & Connectivity: Mobile connectivity is excellent around the reservoir. While some shops might accept digital payments, carrying cash is recommended for small local vendors and boat ride tickets.
