Structural Dimensions: The main jetty is a long, linear concrete structure, often extending 100-150 meters into the shallow lagoon to reach the deeper water necessary for passenger ships. Its width is typically 5-8 meters to accommodate both people and small cargo vehicles. It is supported by massive concrete piles driven into the lagoon floor.
Functional Design: Key architectural elements include the boat landing ramps, mooring bollards for large vessels, and a small, sheltered Jetty Head building (approx. 10m x 10m) which often houses security, customs, or administrative offices. The long span over the lagoon allows for clear, unobstructed views in all directions.
