Ambardi Safari Park
Ambardi Safari Park is a premier wildlife interpretation zone established to reduce the tourist burden on the core Gir forest. Spanning over 365 hectares, this park mimics the Savannah landscape, providing a specialized habitat for the Asiatic Lion. The park is situated on the banks of the Shetrunj i River, offering a scenic backdrop of undulating terrains and dense scrubland. It was inaugurated in 2017 and has since become a vital spot for conservation education. Visitors can witness the majesty of lions in a controlled yet naturalistic environment. The park is home to diverse flora including Kher, Babul, and Ber trees. It serves as an extension of the eastern Gir forest, ensuring that wildlife enthusiasts have a guaranteed sighting experience. The serene environment near the Khodiyar Temple adds a spiritual touch to the wilderness. Over 60 species of birds and several mammals like Blue Bulls and Chinkara thrive here. The ecosystem is meticulously managed by the Gujarat Forest Department to maintain the predator-prey balance.
