These structures typically measure 20x30 feet in dimension and feature thick mud walls that act as natural insulators against the heat. The roofs are slanted and covered with handmade Kholu tiles or thatched straw to allow easy drainage of rainwater during the heavy monsoons. Many homes feature a central courtyard or Aangan where families gather for daily chores and social interactions. The walls are often decorated with Sohrai art or simple white clay patterns that represent the local flora and fauna. These houses represent a sustainable architectural model using locally sourced timber, clay, and bamboo from the Barwadih forests. The layout of the village is planned around communal spaces and sacred trees reflecting a community-centric living pattern. -
