Anjuthengu Lighthouse

Attingal, Kerala, India
Sub Place Details: Anjuthengu Lighthouse is a towering structure that stands as a guide for mariners along the Kerala coast. Built in 1988, this modern lighthouse replaced older signaling systems used since the British era. It stands at a height of about 130 feet (approx. 40 meters). The lighthouse provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the Arabian Sea on one side and the dense coconut groves of Anchuthengu on the other. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase to reach the top gallery. The view from the top is one of the most photographed scenes in the region. You can see the entire layout of the Anjuthengu Fort and the winding backwaters from this height. It is a functional lighthouse managed by the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships. The light can be seen from several nautical miles away at night. It is a popular spot for both tourists and locals who want to experience a bird's-eye view of the coastline. The sea breeze at the top is incredibly refreshing.
