Udi Prasad is Free: The sacred Udi (ash) from the Dhuni is distributed to all devotees free of charge as a blessing (prasad). It is crucial to remember that this Udi is a gift and should not be treated as a commercial item.
Voluntary Donations: As with other sacred sites in the complex, visitors can offer a voluntary donation (dakshina) in the donation boxes provided. These contributions fund the upkeep of the mosque and the charitable activities of the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust. The donation is entirely optional.

Ideal Visit Time: The best time to visit for a quiet and contemplative experience is the early morning (5:00 AM to 7:00 AM) right after Kakad Arati or the late evening (8:00 PM to 9:00 PM) after the main Shej Arati. For witnessing the special ritual, visit on Thursday evenings for the Palki Procession halt. Avoid midday, which is the peak rush hour.

Festivals of Shirdi: The three main festivals—Ram Navami (March/April), Guru Purnima (July), and Vijayadashami (October) (which is also Baba's Mahasamadhi Day)—are celebrated with immense zeal. The Dwarkamai is central to these celebrations, with special pujas and bhajans taking place within its premises, drawing large crowds of devotees.
Anniversary of the Dhuni: While not an official festival, any special puja or gathering near the Dhuni is considered a significant spiritual event, reinforcing the importance of the sacred fire.

Things To Do
-
Take Udi Prasad: The primary activity is receiving the sacred ash (Udi) from the Dhuni (sacred fire). Devotees believe this ash carries Baba's blessings and healing energy, so collect it with reverence.
Offer Prayers at the Dhuni: Offer prayers and seek blessings in front of the perpetually burning Dhuni. Reflect on the spiritual fire that Sai Baba maintained, which symbolically burnt away the karmas of his followers. Maintain silence and respect the heat and sanctity of the fire.
Seek Blessings at Baba's Asana: Touch or offer a silent prayer at the stone slab where Sai Baba used to sit, located on the lower level. This spot is considered exceptionally potent for receiving his grace.

The Sacred Dhuni and Udi: The perpetually burning Dhuni (sacred fire) and the distribution of its ash (Udi), which is revered for its protective and healing powers, is the site's most famous and unique feature. Devotees consider the Udi to be Baba's most tangible blessing.
Symbol of Religious Unity: The mosque's name and its interior (housing both the Dhuni fire and a small Hindu shrine/flag) make it a powerful, enduring symbol of Sai Baba's core philosophy of religious tolerance and unity: Sabka Malik Ek (One God governs all).

Sai Baba resisted major renovation but allowed for gradual repairs. The architecture is unique because it is the only mosque in the world where a Hindu temple is also located (on the upper level, a small shrine with a saffron flag).
It is a two-level structure: the lower level (where Baba primarily resided and the Dhuni is located) and the upper level (used for storage and containing the bathing stone). Dimension of the main lower hall is roughly 30ft x 40ft, and the upper level is smaller, accessible by a staircase.
Construction Materials and Symbolic Features: The walls were initially mud and later plastered and strengthened, but the rustic, slightly uneven nature of the structure has been consciously maintained to preserve its original feel. The current Dhuni is housed in a modern, fire-safe structure lined with special bricks, though it is at the exact spot of the original. A key symbolic architectural feature is the presence of a Tulsi Vrindavan (sacred Tulsi plant stand) and a small temple inside, symbolizing the confluence of Hindu and Muslim faiths in line with Baba's message. The simplicity of the stone steps and the presence of the original stone slab where Baba sat are powerful physical links to the past.
