Gurudwara Dera Baba Bharbhag Singh

Una, Himachal Pradesh, India
Gurudwara Dera Baba Bharbhag Singh, located in the village of Mairi, is a renowned spiritual destination. It is dedicated to Baba Bharbhag Singh, a descendant of the Sikh Gurus who settled here in the 18th century. The shrine is unique as it is visited by both Sikhs and Hindus. It is famously known as a place for spiritual healing, particularly for those believed to be affected by negative energies or mental ailments. The atmosphere at the Dera is intensely spiritual, filled with the sounds of Gurbani and chants. The site is situated amidst scenic hills and pine forests, offering a calm backdrop. Every year, thousands of devotees flock here during the Hola Mohalla fair. The Dera complex includes a main sanctum, a holy tree, and a sacred waterfall nearby. Legend says Baba Ji meditated under a Ber tree and subdued a local demon. The water of the Dhauli Dhar waterfall is considered holy and is believed to have curative properties. Visitors often take the water back home as a blessing. The shrine promotes values of service and community through its Langar (community kitchen).
