This magnificent waterfall cascades from a height of about 60 feet, forming a unique horseshoe shape as it plunges into a clear pool below. What makes it particularly special is its perennial flow, ensuring it remains a beautiful sight throughout the year, even during dry seasons. The trek to Bhalu Gaad Waterfalls is an adventurous and scenic experience. You'll need to drive or take a taxi to the village of Dhari, and from there, it's an approximate 2 km trek through dense forests. The trail winds through verdant landscapes, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the stream and the chirping of birds. The trek involves gentle ascents and descents, making it enjoyable for most fitness levels. Upon reaching the falls, the cool, clear water and the refreshing mist provide a welcome respite. Locals sometimes refer to it as the "Rainbow Falls" due to the frequent appearance of rainbows in the mist generated by the cascading water, especially on sunny days. It's an ideal spot for photography, picnicking, and simply unwinding amidst the untouched beauty of the Kumaon Himalayas. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
