Significance of Piran Kaliyar : Piran Kaliyar Sharif is the world-renowned dargah of the 13th-century Sufi saint Hazrat Alauddin Ali Ahmed Sabir Kaliyari. He was the nephew and disciple of the famous saint Baba Farid and is a central figure in the Chishti order of Sufism. The shrine is situated on the banks of the Ganga Canal and is a shining example of communal harmony, as it is visited by both Muslims and Hindus with equal devotion.
