Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary

The Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, originally known as Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, is a small yet incredibly significant protected area dedicated primarily to the conservation of India's only ape species, the Western Hoolock Gibbon. Nestled amidst lush green tea gardens and bordering the Brahmaputra River, this evergreen forest patch spans approximately 20.98 square kilometers, making it a vital habitat for a diverse range of primates and other wildlife.
