The Sri Baddi Pochamma Temple is an ancient and locally significant shrine in Vemulawada, dedicated to Pochamma Devi, who is revered as a powerful Grama Devatha (village deity) and a manifestation of Goddess Sitala Devi, the goddess of smallpox and infectious diseases, who is worshipped for health a nd protection. This temple is believed to have been built by the Rashtrakuta King Baddiga Bhupathi in the same general era as the other ancient temples, showcasing a history that pre-dates or is concurrent with the Chalukyan structures, adding another layer to Vemulawada's rich temple heritage. Pochamma is the quintessential folk deity of the Telugu and Telangana people, representing the protective mother who wards off epidemics and evil. The temple structure, though simple, houses a powerful granite image of the Goddess, often adorned with weapons, and its walls are engraved with sculptures, albeit less ornate than the main shrines. How to Reach

By Air/Train/Road: Follow the main travel directions to Vemulawada town. The temple is centrally located and easily accessible from the bus stand and main temple area.

By Local Transport: The temple is about 1. 5 KMS from the Vemulawada Bus Stand and only about a 5-minute walk from the main Raja Rajeswara Swamy Temple and the Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple. A short auto-rickshaw ride is available, but walking is recommended as part of the local circuit of ancient temples.

Walkability: The area is flat and highly walkable, allowing for an easy, combined visit to the main temple complex and the two major ancient sub-shrines (Bhimeshwara Swamy and Baddi Pochamma) in the town center.
