How To Reach Bhadrakali Temple

The Bhadrakali Temple is one of the oldest temples dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, a fierce form of Kali. It is believed to have been constructed around 625 A.D. by the Chalukya King Pulakeshin II to celebrate his victory over the Vengi region. The temple stands picturesquely on the banks of the la rge man-made Bhadrakali Lake, surrounded by natural rock formations and hills, lending it a serene and spiritually charged atmosphere. Later, the Kakatiya rulers, who considered Goddess Bhadrakali their ancestral deity, made significant additions and renovations, further elevating its importance. The temple is a major pilgrimage site and a prime example of historical and architectural synthesis in the region.

How to Reach

By Air: Fly to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD), Hyderabad (160 km), then take a taxi or bus.

By Train: Arrive at Warangal Railway Station (WL) or Kazipet Junction (KZJ) (approx. 5-10 km). From the station, take an auto-rickshaw or taxi directly to the temple.

By Road: The temple is located off Hunter Road in Hanamkonda, easily reachable by local buses (TSRTC) or private vehicles from Warangal and surrounding areas. It is a key landmark in the tri-city.

By Local Transport: Abundant auto-rickshaws and app-based taxis available from any point in Warangal/Hanamkonda will take you directly to the temple entrance.
