How To Reach CITM Lake

Formation and Name: CITM Lake, also locally and dramatically known as Death Valley Lake or Bhardwaj Lake (in the same area), is a picturesque, pristine-water body formed in a former stone quarry located within the rugged topography of the Aravalli hills. The name Death Valley comes from the dry, roc ky, and stark terrain of the quarry area that surrounds the water body, resembling a desert landscape and making the area popular for its offbeat, untouched beauty. Ecology: The clear blue water contrasting with the rugged yellow and grey rock face makes for a stunning vista. It is a favored spot for nature lovers and photographers seeking an escape and a challenging hike. The lake's water levels fluctuate significantly with the seasons.

How to Reach

By Air: Nearest is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), approx. 40 KMS away. Hire a cab to reach the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road near the Mangar village turn-off.

By Train: Nearest major station is Faridabad Junction Railway Station (approx. 20 KMS). From there, hire a cab or local transport to the Surajkund area/Mangar Bani turn.

By Road: Located close to the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road. From Faridabad, take the road towards Surajkund and then towards Mangar. The last few kilometers are on rough, unpaved tracks.

By Local Transport: Take the Violet Line Metro to the Badarpur Border or Sarai Metro Station, then hire a taxi or auto to the Mangar Bani area. Note that the final approach is challenging for standard autos.
