How to Reach
By Train::There is no direct rail connectivity due to the high altitude. The nearest major railhead is Jammu Tawi (JAT) (approx. 700+ KMS), from where one must take a bus or taxi to Leh, followed by the drive to Hanle.
By Road::This is the only practical way. From Leh, the distance is approximately 250-275 KMS, taking 9-10 hours. The main routes are via Chumathang (Leh-Upshi-Chumathang-Mahe-Nyoma-Loma-Hanle) or the more challenging route via Pangong Tso and Chusul (permit-dependent), requiring a 4x4 vehicle and high ground clearance.
By Local Transport::Local transport is highly limited. The best option is to hire a private taxi (Leh-based) or join a specialized adventure tour. There are no regular bus services to Hanle village.
