How to Reach
The: closest commercial airport is Prayagraj Airport (IXD) (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh (approx. 130 KMS away). From the airport, hire a pre-booked taxi or use public transport to reach Chitrakoot Dham (Karwi), and then take local transport for the final 2 KMS to the Kund.
By Train:
The: nearest railway station is Chitrakoot Dham Karwi Railway Station (CKTD) (approx. 10-11 KMS).
The station is well-connected. From the station, shared auto-rickshaws (Tempos) or private taxis are instantly available for the short journey, making it a quick and convenient route to the Kund.
By Road: Janki Kund is very close to the main Chitrakoot area (Ram Ghat), only about 2 KMS away.
The motorable road is in excellent condition, allowing for a very short and easy drive. Private taxis, auto-rickshaws, and even local cycle-rickshaws are available for the short, final distance from the center of the town.
By Local Transport:
The: most pleasant local transport option is a cycle-rickshaw from Ram Ghat, which provides a slow, gentle ride perfect for soaking in the local atmosphere. Alternatively, shared auto-rickshaws (Tempos) are easily available and are the most budget-friendly, taking you directly to the Kund's entrance area.
