Tirur is a significant station on the main coastal railway line and is well-connected to major Indian cities. From Tirur, regular local buses and taxis are available to Malappuram town. The travel time by road from Tirur to Kottakkunnu is approximately 30-40 minutes. The Kozhikode railway station (CLT), about 50 KMS away, is another good option for those coming from the north.
