How to Reach
By Train: Nearest railhead is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) (190-195 KMS). Follow the same route as
By Air to reach Lachen.
By Road: Drive from Lachen to Thangu (35-40 KMS), then a further drive to Chopta Valley (road head). From Chopta, it is a demanding trek of about 20 KMS to Muguthang.
By Local Transport: Access requires a pre-arranged, permitted 4x4 vehicle up to Chopta and then trekking only.
