History and Overview of the Venue: The Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium is a prominent multi-purpose sports venue, historically famous for hosting significant international and domestic cricket matches. Named after the local hero Raja Nahar Singh of Ballabgarh, the stadium was originally built in 1981 an d was known as Mayur Stadium before its renaming. Although primarily known for cricket, it is a multi-purpose ground, occasionally used for non-sporting events, concerts, and large public gatherings. The stadium has a rich history, having been a significant venue in North India for over two decades, hosting 8 One Day Internationals (ODIs), with the last ODI played here in 2006 between India and England. Capacity and Current Status: The stadium boasts a seating capacity of around 25,000 spectators, which places it among the larger cricket venues in the region. It features a modern 200-seater pavilion with an attached suite, along with ultra-modern facilities for players and media. The pitch and ground facilities have been upgraded over time. However, due to the rise of new international venues in the NCR and recent renovation challenges, the stadium has been largely inactive for major international fixtures since 2006, although local and domestic matches, such as the Ranji Trophy and Haryana's state-level games, continue to be played here occasionally, and it is a central hub for Faridabad's cricket culture. Haryana Tourism recognizes it as a major landmark.:

How to Reach

By Air: Nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi (approx. 40 KMS). From DEL, hire a cab or take the Delhi Metro to the Violet Line.

By Train: Nearest station is Faridabad Railway Station (FDB), which is very close (approx. 5 KMS). It is a short auto-rickshaw or taxi ride away.

By Road: The stadium is located in the New Industrial Township (NIT) area, very close to the NH 44 (Delhi-Mathura Highway). It is easily accessible by private or public transport from all parts of Faridabad and Delhi.

By Local Transport: The Delhi Metro Violet Line is the most convenient. The nearest metro station is Neelam Chowk Ajronda Metro Station or Old Faridabad Metro Station, both within a short auto-rickshaw distance (approx. 2-3 KMS). App-based taxis are widely available. :
