From either airport, you would need to hire a private taxi directly to the falls via Dokmoka. This can be expensive but is the fastest way to reach the vicinity. Diphu is well-connected to major cities like Guwahati and Dimapur. From Diphu, you must hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw for the final leg of the journey to the falls. By Road (Topic Heading) The falls are best reached by road. If traveling from Guwahati, follow NH 27 towards Nagaon, then take a state highway towards Dokmoka. The total road journey is roughly 250 KMS and takes 5-6 hours. A road journey from Tinsukia would involve a much longer drive of 250-300 KMS via Jorhat. Private cars or hired taxis are the most convenient, as the last stretch is often an unnamed road requiring local knowledge. By Local Transport (Topic Heading) Once you reach the nearby town of Dokmoka or Diphu, the final 10-30 KMS can be covered by hiring a local taxi or shared auto-rickshaw. It's crucial to negotiate the fare beforehand, and hiring a round-trip taxi is highly advisable, as return transport options can be limited, especially late in the day.
