By Train: Nearest railhead is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) (190-195 KMS). Follow the same route as
By Air to reach Lachen.
By Road: Drive from Lachen to Thangu (30-35 KMS). The drive takes approximately 1. 5 - 2 hours and is only possible in an authorized, permitted 4x4 vehicle.
By Local Transport: Only pre-booked, authorized tour/permit vehicles are allowed to travel this route. Local jeep taxis may be available on a shared basis from Lachen but are subject to permits.
