How To Reach Tsuglagkhang Complex

How to Reach
By Air: Fly to Gaggal Airport and take a 45-minute taxi ride to McLeod Ganj. The complex is a well-known landmark, and every taxi driver will know exactly where to drop you. It is located at the end of Temple Road. The proximity to the airport makes it possible for even short-term visitors to experience the spiritual heart of the Tibetan community without a long and tiring journey.
By Train: Reach Pathankot by train and then travel by road for about 3 hours. The journey is a gradual ascent into the mountains. Once in Dharamshala, you can take the "Dharamshala Skyway" (ropeway) which connects the lower town to McLeod Ganj in just 5 minutes. This is a modern and scenic way to reach the town, avoiding the heavy traffic on the winding mountain roads.
By Road: Regular buses from all over North India terminate at the McLeod Ganj bus stand. From the bus stand, the complex is a simple and flat 10-minute walk. If you are driving your own vehicle, be aware that parking in McLeod Ganj is very limited and difficult. It is often better to park at the large multi-level parking lot near the entrance of the town and walk to the complex.
By Local Transport: Within the town, walking is the most efficient and enjoyable way to reach the complex. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available for those who have difficulty walking uphill. If you are coming from Dharamshala, the local "jeep" service or buses are the most economical way. The complex is the focal point of the town, and all local transport routes effectively lead toward the Main Temple area, making it very easy to find.
