After Landing: Hire a pre-paid or app-based taxi (Ola/Uber). The journey can take up to an hour and a half, depending on traffic, as you need to cross a large part of the city. Direct local buses to the Pashan or Kothrud area are also available.
By Train (Via Pune Junction): Pune Junction is approximately 10 KMS away.
After Arrival: The fastest way is to take an auto-rickshaw or taxi to the hill's base (Pashan or Kothrud side). The ride should take about 30 to 40 minutes. By Road (Using Bus and
Private Vehicle):
Private Vehicle: Vetal Tekdi is situated between the Pashan and Kothrud areas. There is an access road for vehicles, but it is often restricted during the day, so check the latest local rules. Parking near the base is limited.
Intercity Bus: Take an intercity bus to the Shivajinagar bus terminal, which is about 5 KMS away, or the Swargate depot, and then transfer to a local city bus or auto-rickshaw.
By Local Transport (Intra-City Travel):
Auto-rickshaws: Easily available across the city. Ask the driver to take you to the base of Vetal Tekdi near Pashan or the Paud Road entrance in Kothrud.
Local Buses (PMPML): PMPML city buses run frequently to areas like Pashan, Gokhalenagar, and Kothrud, which are at the base of the hill. The bus stops near the hill are a short walk from the main trekking paths.
App-based Cabs: Recommended for a convenient ride directly to one of the hill's access points. Use the app to specify the Pashan or Kothrud side entrance for the trek.
