5 hours; By Train (Via Vikarabad Junction): Take a train to Vikarabad Junction (VKB), which is only about 8 KMS from the main forest reserve entrance (near Ananthagiri Hills); From VKB, numerous auto-rickshaws, local taxis, and shared jeeps are available for the short, final stretch to the forest entrance or nearby resorts; This is the most practical rail option; By Road (Self-Drive / TSRTC Bus): Drive from Hyderabad (80-90 KMS) via the Chevella - Vikarabad route; The roads leading to the Ananthagiri Hills are clearly marked and in good condition; State-run TSRTC buses go to Vikarabad town bus stand; From the town, hire an auto or taxi to the forest entrance (approx. 8 KMS); Some local buses may go closer to the Ananthagiri Temple route; By Local Transport (Shared Jeep / Auto): From Vikarabad town, shared jeeps or large auto-rickshaws, specifically heading toward the Ananthagiri Padmanabha Swamy Temple, are the most economical local transport option; They drop passengers at the main forest check post, from where walking or a resort vehicle is necessary for the final kilometer; The local transport link is frequent and reliable during peak hours.
