Kera Palace
Kera Palace is a historical landmark that serves as a testament to the royal heritage of the Singhbhum region. It was the seat of the Kera Raj, a prominent estate that played a significant role in the local administration and cultural history of the Ho and Oriya communities. The palace is an archit ectural blend of traditional Indian styles and colonial influences. Although parts of it are in ruins, the standing structures still display intricate carvings and grand gateways. The palace complex also houses a very famous Bhagwati Temple, which attracts thousands of devotees during festivals. The history of the palace is intertwined with the resistance against British rule in the 19th century. Walking through its corridors feels like stepping back in time, with old artifacts and large courtyards telling stories of a bygone era of royalty and local chieftains. It remains the most important cultural site for the people of the Kera block.
