Kynshi River
General Details: The Kynshi River is the longest and most significant river in the West Khasi Hills district. Originating from the high plateaus near Mawthadraishan, it winds through some of the most dramatic landscapes in Meghalaya before descending into the plains of Bangladesh. In the Mairang sec tion, the river is characterized by deep, slow-moving pools interspersed with exciting rapids that are world-renowned among whitewater kayakers. The riverbanks are a mosaic of white sandy beaches, jagged rock formations, and dense tropical forests.
