Mammiyur Sri Mahadeva Temple

Mammiyur Sri Mahadeva Temple is a highly significant shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a traditional belief that a pilgrimage to Guruvayur is incomplete without visiting Mammiyur. According to legend, when Lord Krishna's idol was being installed at Guruvayur, Lord Shiva, who was staying there, moved to this location to make space. The temple is known for its serene atmosphere and historical importance. The main deity is Shiva in the form of a 'Lingam'. There are also shrines for Lord Vishnu, Ganapathi, and Bhagavathy. The temple sees a huge rush during Shivarathri. It is located just a short walk away from the main Guruvayur temple.
