This island serves as the foundation for a small Shiv Temple and the towering statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The temple's architecture is simple and devotional, while the statue is a modern, imposing tribute to the Maratha warrior king, dominating the lake's visual landscape.
Promenade and Railing Dimensions: The lake is surrounded by a well-paved, modern promenade, approximately 3 to 5 meters wide, designed for pedestrian traffic. The entire perimeter (1. 4 KMS) is bordered by recently installed safety railings and benches, often featuring glass panels and modern street lighting, reflecting the TMC's urban renewal efforts.
Boating Jetty Structure: A small, functional wooden or concrete jetty is constructed at one end of the lake to facilitate boating and water sports activities, including water scooters. This structure includes ticket counters and safety equipment storage, purely functional in its design, measuring roughly 10m x 5m. The architecture blends the traditional reverence of the temples with modern recreational and civic design. -
