Ideal Visit Time: The absolute best time is the Early Morning (9:30 AM to 12:00 PM).
Early Morning: This is when the animals are most active, especially the big cats and primates, as they are typically fed or are enjoying the cool part of the day. This provides the best viewing and photography opportunities. Late Afternoon (3:30 PM onwards) is the next best time, as the heat subsides, and animals may become active again. The Midday hours (12:00 PM to 3:00 PM) are often quiet, with many animals resting in the shade.Special Events:

During this time, special events like photo exhibitions, nature drawing competitions, awareness rallies, and talks by wildlife experts are held.
Snake Awareness Programs: Especially around July and August (monsoon season), the Snake Park often hosts special public workshops or demonstrations to educate people about snake identification, venomous species, and immediate first aid protocols for snake bites, which is a critical public service.Best Photo Spots:

The Large Aviary/Bird Section: The wire mesh enclosures for various birds offer chances for colorful shots. Focus on composition to minimize the visibility of the mesh.
The Snake Park Glass Enclosures: The secure, well-lit glass displays of the snakes, especially the large pythons or the King Cobra, offer great photo opportunities for wildlife close-ups (ensure no flash is used).
The Park Pathways: The main, clean, tree-lined paths offer a wonderful natural backdrop for candid family and group photos, conveying the sense of an outdoor adventure.Photo Gallery

It attracts researchers, students, and curious visitors who want to safely see these reptiles up close.

Reptile Awareness Program: The park actively conducts reptile awareness and safety programs, especially during the monsoons, educating the public on snake bites, first aid, and conservation, giving it a strong educational reputation. -

This involves large, moated enclosures rather than small cages. The use of natural materials, rocks, and plant life within the enclosures aims to minimize stress on the animals.
The Snake Park Design: A distinct section of the park is the renowned Snake Park. Its design is focused on safety and visibility. Snakes are housed in secure, glass-fronted enclosures and pits that allow visitors a clear view while maintaining a safe distance. The layout follows a sequential path, showcasing different venomous and non-venomous species, emphasizing educational information.
The Rescue Center: A functional, off-limits-to-public area is the Animal Rescue Center. Its design is purely practical, featuring veterinary facilities, quarantine areas, and specialized rehabilitation cages built to precise dimensions for animal recovery and medical care.
Dimensions: The entire park spans approximately 130 acres. The perimeter wall and the internal pathways are structured to manage the flow of thousands of visitors efficiently, often utilizing gentle slopes and natural curves that follow the terrain of the Katraj hills. -
