Ramachandi Temple
The Ramachandi Temple is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Ramachandi, believed to be the presiding deity (Arka Kshetra Adhisthari) of the Konark region. It is spectacularly located at the point where the Creek (a branch of the Kushabhadra River) meets the Bay of Bengal. The current temple is a small structure, built after the original ancient temple (believed to have been near the Sun Temple) was destroyed. Legend says the Goddess moved to this spot to escape the destruction by the invader Kalapahad. The scenic confluence is a popular picnic spot, offering a serene beach experience and boat rides on the river.
