Rohtak Zoo
Conservation and Recreation: The Rohtak Zoo, also known as the Tilyar Mini Zoo, was developed by the Haryana Forest Department in 1987, consolidating smaller zoos across the state into a single, more viable conservation and recreational center. It is spread across a substantial area, adjacent to the famous Tilyar Lake, making it a combined natural attraction. The zoo houses various species of mammals, reptiles, and birds, focusing on local and regional wildlife like the Tiger, Leopard, Blackbuck, Sambhar, Hippopotamus, and various monkey species. The aim is to educate the public about wildlife conservation and provide a safe, natural-like habitat for the animals. Continuous efforts are made for habitat improvement, veterinary care, and compliance with the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) guidelines for animal welfare and management. Its primary appeal is as a family-friendly educational destination and a significant component of the larger Tilyar Tourist Complex.
