Mythological Significance: Sita Paani is famous for its association with the Ramayana epic. It is revered as the spot where the divine couple rested during their wanderings. The site is also famous for its perennial cold-water spring that never dries up, even in the peak of summer. It is a well-known pilgrimage for the people of Baroh and surrounding villages, who believe that bathing here can cure skin ailments. The tranquility and the "miraculous" nature of the water source have made it a legendary location in the local folklore of the Kangra valley. -

Traditional Hill Shrine Design: The architecture at Sita Paani is simple yet charming, reflecting the local Himachali style. The main temple is a small structure with a gabled roof made of slate tiles, typical of the Kangra region. The "Kund" or the sacred pool is constructed with stone masonry and features steps leading down into the water. The dimensions of the temple area are modest, covering about 200 square meters. Intricate wood carvings can be seen on the temple doors and pillars, depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The layout is designed to allow the natural spring to flow through the sanctum, emphasizing the importance of water in the worship ritual. The surrounding stone walls are built using traditional dry-stone techniques. -
