Due to its strategic location on the border route, a special Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for visitors, ensuring the area remains relatively secluded and less commercially exploited than other tourist spots in Sikkim. It is also the starting point for several challenging treks into the high-altitude valleys of North Sikkim, like Muguthang Valley. Tourism Tips

Health & Safety: Carry warm woolen clothes, even in summer, as the temperature can drop quickly. Acclimatization is crucial; spend the night in Lachen (9,600 ft) before proceeding to the 13,200 ft valley. Carry basic medication for altitude sickness (Diamox) and a first-aid kit. Drink plenty of water to combat dehydration.

Packing: Essentials include thermal wear, heavy jackets, caps, gloves, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen due to the harsh high-altitude sun. Carry a portable oxygen cylinder for emergencies, though most taxi drivers carry one.

Accommodation: There is No

Accommodation in the valley itself. The only accommodation is available in Lachen (hotels/homestays) or Thangu (very basic homestays), which serve as the base camps for the trip.
