Agaratoli is characterized by a mix of grassland, forest, and a significant number of water bodies, including the famous Sohola Beel. This range is known for its relatively untouched natural beauty and diverse wildlife. While rhinos and elephants are present, Agaratoli offers a higher chance of spo tting tigers compared to other ranges, although tiger sightings are always a matter of luck in the wild. What truly sets Agaratoli apart is its exceptional birdlife. The numerous wetlands and the proximity to the Brahmaputra River make it a haven for both resident and migratory birds. Birdwatchers can spot a wide array of species, including various storks, pelicans, eagles, kingfishers, and a host of waterbirds. The range is also known for sightings of the Great Indian Hornbill and various raptors. Besides birds and the "Big Five," Agaratoli also provides opportunities to see wild boars, deer, and sometimes even wild buffalo near the water bodies. Boat safaris are sometimes offered in this range, particularly on the Diphlu River or the beels, providing a unique perspective for birdwatching and spotting semi-aquatic animals.
